Webcam Resources

AJay’s personal Web Cam uses the Macintosh specific EVOCAM software.

Evocam’s web site points out that their software is the ultimate webcam software for Mac OS X. Use EvoCam to publish a webcam with streaming video, view and record video from network cameras and video servers, create timelapse movies, or use it as part of your home security system with its configurable motion sensors - these are just a few of the things you can do with this easy-to-use yet incredibly powerful webcam software!

AJay’s personal Web Cam also uses the APPLE iSIGHT CAMERA and a APPLE Power Mac 1.25Mhz Dual Processor.

A good majority of the Web Cams that you will see on AJAYSWEBCAMS from around the world use AXIS Cam System that have the ability to be directional, and zoom, as well as multiple camera views. These tend to be more High End Web Cameras that business tend to use.

If you are looking for a personal Web Cam software to run on Windows compatible machines you might want to try WEBCAM XP. It is a bit pricey, but has all the bells and whistles you would ever need.

If you have a Web Cam, but just want a inexpensive Web Cam software for your Windows computer, you might want to try Chris Lundie’s FREE Fwink Web Cam Software. It does not have all the frills that the Webcam XP does, but the price is right, and it’s a decent piece of software. Make sure you show your appreciation to Chris for this FREE software by making a donation at his donation link.

For those Mac folks out there that have a cam, whether it be a stand alone iSight camera, or one built into the new iMacs, MacBooks or MacBook Pros, Phil Piwonka has created a Application called Gawker which is a Open Source project. Gawker can be best described as a application that creates time-lapse movies using an iSight/DV camera. Images from your camera can be shared, allowing other users to record your image stream. Streams can also be combined to create a time-lapse movie with two locations side-by-side. This app is still in Beta, and I’m sure Phil would love to hear feedback from you. Gawker is FREE, but show Phil a little love, and click his donate button, and show him your appreciation. Download, e Mail, and Donate here… Gawker.
