OK, my cam of the week is not so weekly…., but hey, work with me here.
Louisville Kentucky in the U.S. is home to this remote cam.
It’s a countryside Astronomy complex that allows you to pan and tilt.
On a regular bases you can see deer on the grounds of the complex eating the grass.
You can check out the cam here….

The only problem is it’s kind of hard to see at night…, so if that is a problem,
You can go here,
and check out a similar facility on the other side of the world, and in a different hemisphere.
So take the look down under.

Big Trousers is the cam of the week

Posted in Cam of the week, Friends of Ajays, New Cams on October 20th, 2007 by admin

This was an easy pick for cam of the week.
I don’t have Big Trousers on my normal list of cams, but it is one of the ones that I frequent the most.
Catch the hard working staff at the Big Trousers studio, and you might even catch Phil doing his Photo Geek TV program where they talk about electronic geekiness.

Personal Webcam working again…

Posted in A Most Recent Post--->, Cam of the week, Friends of Ajays, Technology on May 3rd, 2007 by admin

I finally managed to get the cam working again. After it went down, I went a couple of weeks without trying to solve the issue, due to other pressing events.
It is now running again, and is my cam of the week.
(scheduling varies)

At the speed of light…., nothing!

Posted in A Most Recent Post--->, Cam of the week on April 15th, 2007 by admin

Ok…, I’ve known of this link for over two years, however, everytime I’ve visited this link, there is nothing going on at a real time pace. I think this is a TV studio with a overhead shot. Notate the microphone on the black table. It has been in that same position for two years…, I swear!
This cam has great frame rate, but nothing never goes on.
Check out nothing happening real fast here…,

Ahhhh…, Venice Italy

Posted in A Most Recent Post--->, Cam of the week on March 14th, 2007 by admin

This week we visit Venice, and take a veiw of cams on the canals.

Venice is world-famous for its canals. It is built on an archipelago of 122 islands formed by about 150 canals in a shallow lagoon. The islands on which the city is built are connected by about 400 bridges. In the old center, the canals serve the function of roads, and every form of transport is on water or on foot. In the 19th century a causeway to the mainland brought a railway station to Venice, and an automobile causeway and parking lot was added in the 20th century. Beyond these land entrances at the northern edge of the city, transportation within the city remains, as it was in centuries past, entirely on water or on foot. Venice is Europe’s largest urban carfree area, unique in Europe in remaining a sizable functioning city in the 21st century entirely without motorcars or trucks.

The classical Venetian boat is the gondola, although it is now mostly used for tourists, or for weddings, funerals, or other ceremonies. Most Venetians now travel by motorised waterbuses (”vaporetti”) which ply regular routes along the major canals and between the city’s islands. The city also has many private boats. The only gondolas still in common use by Venetians are the traghetti, foot passenger ferries crossing the Grand Canal at certain points without bridges.

This week we travel to the US Capital of Washington D.C., where Taxation without representation, isn’t just a saying in this city of 600,000, it’s a reality.

Washington, D.C. is the capital city of the United States of America. “D.C.” is an abbreviation for the District of Columbia, the federal district coextensive with the city of Washington. The city is named after George Washington, military leader of the American Revolution and the first President of the United States. It is commonly known as D.C., The District, or simply Washington. Historically, it was called the Federal City or Washington City. To avoid confusion with the state of Washington, located in the Pacific Northwest, the city is often called simply D.C., and the state referred to as “Washington State.”

Our cam location this week goes to the college campus of George Washington University where we get a bonus extra cam at the campus radio station WRGW. Take a look into the DJ booth and see what they do, (not much apparently) and also take a look into the Radio Guest Studio. Want to listen while you watch? Pick your media player and connection here. Better yet…, amuse yourself and send them an e mail at wrgw@gwu.edu and tell them that you are watching them. You can also IM the DJ through AIM by using the tag, RGWradio.
