Throwing in the towel…
Ok…, after messing around personally and having UberDesigner and Photogeek.TV host and personality Phil Greenwood mess with the Java Feed from my Evocam Software to the site more times than I care to even discuss here…, I’ve finally given up on trying to make Java video work on my site.
I believe my ISP along with my wireless, ports, and Firewall were all somehow to blame…, of course that’s my story and I’m sticking to it…, yeah, I know that is lame…, want to make something of it? ; )
Anyhow, I have decided to give way to a simpler solution.
It’s such a simpler solution to broadcasting video on your site. It may Not have as many frills as the Evocam software solution, but it makes up for it in it’s use of ease and web 2.0 features. If the folks over at Evocam were smart they would find a way to make their software somehow interact with Stickam. They have not done anything major with it in over a year. You Listening guys?
So…, I have a solid video player now that offers streaming video, albeit, it taxes the upload stream heavily, making everything else you do online slow. It offers a photo slide show and a place to add your favorite MP3 for listening. As well a place to store your videos. Of course watching them is like watching paint dry, because it takes forever for the video to download.
So no more excesses about the streaming video not running.
I’ve also added a BETA to my Personal Web Cam.
I’ve installed a Frappr Map that allows you to place yourself on a google type of map and add your city, name, and webpage or cam.
Give it a shot. I’ve found the Beta to be quite a work in progress though. I still can’t seem to upload a photo.
I’ve just got back from holiday, and have multiple things to add to the site. I’ll keep you posted as I add them.
Thanks, AJay
